The Minister of Transport has consented to distribute 300 copies of the Pricewaterhousecoopers Position Review on PKFZ, including the appendices, to all Members of Parliament. This follows a request dated June 12 from the Parliament Secretary.

Minister of Transport Dato' Sri Ong Tee Keat has decided to meet the request in the name of transparency and accountability.

I am glad to meet the key people in the Special Task Force and the two committees.

These are reputable and independent people identified and who have given the commitment to perform proper and transparent tasks.

A lot of work lies ahead and I have given the Task Force no longer than two months. They should come back with clear recommendations on how to rectify the wrongs and pursue appropriate legal remedies.

On the instructions of the Minister of Transport, Dato’ Sri Ong Tee Keat, Port Klang Authority (PKA) wishes to announce the formation of a Special Task Force and two committees to take immediate action based on the findings of the Position Review of Port Klang Free Zone Project and Port Klang Free Zone Sdn. Bhd. (PKFZ Report).
- Roadmap to Recovery

I am blogging from Beijing, where I am accompanying the Prime Minister for an official visit. We are working intensely on a roadmap to recovery for PKFZ. When billions of ringgit and the future of our children are at stake, we should take this situation very seriously and make wise decisions based on the best input available from relevant parties.

Closing down PKFZ as suggested by opposition is clearly a knee jerk reaction which spells of political agenda and defeatist attitude.
